WHY am I such an idiot? Why do I always say and do the wrong thing?
Recently, my firm held a summer party. I knew all the senior executives were going to be there.
I was so nervous that I pre-loaded on Cava at home beforehand.
I turned up sloshed and marched up to the best looking bloke in the place, slurring that I fancied him and wanted to have sex. Luckily, at that point my mate managed to drag me away. But I carried on drinking and propositioning blokes until two agreed to come into an empty office with me for a threesome.
Then two more colleagues strolled in so I had sex with them too. Pictures were taken, stuff was posted on the internet and now I feel like rubbish.
My immediate boss is due back from annual leave in a couple of weeks and I don’t know how I’m going to face her. PRESS 1 for GENERAL COUNSELLING for all personal and relationship difficulties PRESS 2 for SEXUAL GUIDANCE for all men’s and women’s intimate problems She took a chance employing me and this is how I repay her.
JANE SAYS: We all make stupid mistakes in our lives. Being drunk is not an excuse but it probably goes a long way towards explaining your idiotic behaviour at the office summer party.
Seek your boss out as soon as you can and apologise for being a fool. Look her in the eye and explain that you never meant to embarrass or upset her. If other workmates rib you, take it on the chin and be prepared to laugh the whole thing off until someone else screws up.
Sadly, if your boss decides that what you did constitutes gross misconduct and asks you to resign, that’s a battle you’ll have to face and fight.
If alcohol is a problem for you, I suggest you take a cold, hard look at how you’re living your life and make some significant changes.
