Spurs Davin it large

- By PAUL BROWN

® TOTTENHAM could be forced to pay £40m for Ajax defender Davinson Sanchez.

However, Spurs are increasingly confident they will get their man this week and are also closing in on Paris St-Germain’s Serge Aurier.

Sanchez has told Ajax he wants to leave and did not train yesterday because of a minor knee injury.

Spurs have yet to agree a fee for the 21-year-old but talks are at an advanced stage after the club flew a delegation out to Amsterdam.

They are ready to offer an initial £27m for the Colombian, with the rest in add-ons, and expect Ajax to do business.

Lack

Tottenham are keen to make a splash in the transfer market after full-back Danny Rose criticised the club’s lack of signings.

They are also in for PSG full-back Aurier, although reports he has already agreed terms are understood to be wide of the mark.

Manchester United, Chelsea, Juventus and Inter Milan are also interested in Aurier, who has been told he can leave PSG.

Spurs have denied making a bid for Fulham starlet Ryan Sessegnon after reports surfaced they had offered £25m for the 17-year-old.

If Spurs succeed in signing Sanchez it could mean the end for Kevin Wimmer, who is deemed surplus to requirements.

Tottenham are trying to move Moussa Sissoko, with Turkish club Trabzonspor favourites to land him.

The French midfielder has agreed personal terms on the transfer but a fee has yet to be thrashed out, with Spurs holding out for close to £30m.
