NOEL Gallagher will headline an all-star benefit concert to re-open Manchester Arena four months after the terror attack.

The Oasis legend has been deeply affected by the suicide bomb atrocity in his home city.

OASIS legend Noel Gallagher will headline a star-studded benefit concert to re-open Manchester Arena four months after the terror attack.

His High Flying Birds will be joined by The Courteeners, Blossoms and 80s pop star Rick Astley for the We Are Manchester fundraiser.

It will be the first gig at the venue since the blast killed 22 people in May at an Ariana Grande concert.

Liam Fray, frontman of Manchester band The Courteeners, tweeted: “Incredibly honoured to be part of this.’’

Gallagher’s brother and former Oasis bandmate Liam, 44, appeared at Ariana’s One Love Manchester benefit concert a fortnight after the atrocity.

Noel, 50, did not appear but has spoken about how he has been deeply affected by the attack on his home city. All profits from the concert will go to the Manchester Memorial Fund.

Manchester City Council’s deputy leader Sue Murphy said: “Manchester has reacted with love, solidarity and a determination to continue doing the things which make this such a vibrant city.

“We welcome the re-opening of the Arena, a major venue which attracts hundreds of thousands of visitors, as a powerful symbol of this defiant spirit.”
