GO HAPPILY WITH RYAN

- By NEIL RANDON

TWO of Aidan O’Brien’s leading twoyear-old fillies go toe-to-toe in tomorrow’s Debutante Stakes at the Curragh.

The unbeaten September is the antepost favourite for next year’s 1,000 Guineas and has won both her races impressively.

But slight preference is for stablemate Happily, who was hugely impressive when winning the Silver Flash Stakes at Leopardstown last month.

Crucially, Ryan Moore, right, has chosen to discard Royal Ascot winner ® September in favour of Happily, a daughter of Galileo.

O’Brien has won the Group Two event 11 times with horses such as Lillie Langtry, Ballydoyle and Rhododendron and he also saddles Magical in the eight-runner field.

Meanwhile, O’Brien’s Order Of St George makes his first appearance since the Gold Cup at Royal Ascot in the Comer Group International Irish St Leger Trial at the Curragh today.

Order Of St George went down by a short head after a titanic tussle with Big Orange in defence of his Gold Cup crown in June and is set to follow the same route as last season, with the Irish St Leger on September 10 top of O’Brien’s agenda.

But he may struggle to contain Rekindling.

Joseph O’Brien’s colt relished the step up in trip when winning the Curragh Cup last month from Wicklow Brave.
