Billy Joe can seal big deal

- Interview by CHRIS McKENNA

WE have got some cracking cards in the next few months.

We truly are aiming for the stars and have the fighters in our stable to get us there.

Kicking off we have Billy Joe Saunders against Willie Monroe Jnr for the WBO middleweight title on September 16 at the Copper Box Arena.

And if that wasn’t good enough, there is the massive middleweight clash between Saul Alvarez and Gennady Golovkin in the early hours of the following morning.

What a way to get going.

Saunders (below) knows he has to look good if he wants to fight the winner of the big one in Las Vegas and he is hoping to get that bout in December.

Our young guns, like Daniel Dubois and Anthony Yarde, will also be on the undercard in London.

Then it’s on to October 21 and featherweight contender Josh Warrington is looking for an opponent for a big show in Leeds.

We made a huge offer to IBF champion Lee Selby but the governing body is set to request Warrington faces Denmark’s Dennis Ceylan as a final eliminator.

So one way or another we will get that Selby fight for the Leeds man whether it is this year or next.

On that card one of our young stars, Jack Catterall, takes on seasoned campaigner Tyrone Nurse in what is sure to be a great fight for the British lightwelterweight title.

Then in Newcastle a week later, the highly anticipated re-match between Liam Smith and Liam Williams will be a cracking fight at light-middleweight.

The winner of that could fight WBO champion Miguel Cotto, if the Puerto Rican beats Yoshihiro Kamegai next week in LA.

And we are looking to get Ireland’s Jamie Conlan a title fight in early November in Belfast, while Terry Flanagan will defend his WBO lightweight title against Felix Verdejo as soon as he is fit. That’s just for starters. We’ve had some fantastic shows since we started on BT in April and now we have to keep up the standard. We’ve built our reputation on putting on competitive fights and are not going to change now.
