Eubank’s seen Floyd focus

FLOYD MAYWEATHER is taking his $1billion clash with Conor McGregor seriously.

Chris Eubank Jnr has been training in the same gym as the 40-year-old American for the last three weeks.

Ring king Mayweather is hot favourite against UFC star McGregor and Eubank rubbished rumours that the undefeated veteran is going easy in training.

“He has the same intensity and drive that he has every time I’ve seen him train,” said the Brit, who also saw Mayweather up close ahead of his fights with Marcos Maidana and Manny Pacquiao. “From what I’ve seen he is in tremendous shape and is not taking it lightly.

“The fact that he’s pushed for 8oz gloves and his whole demeanour suggests he is looking to make a statement by stopping him.

“I don’t think Floyd is underestimating this guy.

“He has trained like Conor is a multi-world champion in boxing.”

Mayweather has the added pressure of putting his 49-0 record on the line in a fight that would leave him embarrassed if he lost to McGregor, who has never boxed professionally.

“I don’t know if he feels pressure,” added Eubank, who is training for his World Boxing Super Series quarter-final against Avni Yildirim in October.

“There’s no doubt in his mind that he’s going to win.

“Losing won’t come into his head. In that sense there is probably not a pressure because he knows what he is going to do and that is go in there and dominate.

“He knows he has to beat this guy convincingly. He knows he has to do the job properly.”
