FORGET Bake Off and MasterChef. The new top telly contest is starting tonight – and there is not a soggy bottom in sight.

Eight pairs of amateur Lego fans from across the UK will show off their creative and constructi­on skills in a battle to be crowned masters of the brick.

Anyone who thought that Channel 4’s Lego Masters was just for those who can’t le-go of their childhood is mistaken.

Celebs like David Beckham and Ed Sheeran have recently confessed to a love of Lego.

And this show is proof that the tiny coloured bricks have never been more on trend – no matter what age you are. Radio DJ and TV presenter Melvin Odoom hosts the four-part competitio­n which sees teams put through their paces building miniature brick creations.

The series is promising a “wide array of discipline­s from the playful to the technical to the unexpected”.

Chair

One episode will feature the teams making replicas of food and a chair that can bear the presenter’s weight.

Melvin jokes: “I am a trained profession­al at sitting in chairs, having sat on a few in my time.

“But I did wear a hard hat just in case. No Melvins were injured during the of this show.”

The competitor­s rang from nine-year-olds to 4 thing adults who canno the Lego bug.

Judging the com are Lego superfans Osman, Bill Bailey, Briain and Matthew who is vice preside design for the Lego Gro

Tonight’s first epis will see the audition which include 48 pairs of competitor­s being whittled down to the final eight.
