IBRA PLANS MORE UNITED MAGIC

- by JEREMY CROSS

ZLATAN IBRAHIMOVIC has vowed to create more magic with Manchester United after rejoining the Premier League giants.

Ibrahimovic has signed a new 12-month deal at Old Trafford and is expected to return from a serious knee injury in December.

The Swedish superstar made a stunning impact last season, plundering 28 goals to help United win three trophies.

But despite the fact he will be 36 before making his comeback, Ibrahimovic is convinced he can still do special things.

Revealing he turned down several offers from rival clubs to work with Jose Mourinho again, Ibrahimovic said: “There were a couple of teams reaching out who wanted to have Ibra-cadabra in their team.

“But I had such a great year with United. We had a great season, we won three trophies, fantastic guys, a great club, a coach that I know from before and my family was happy.

“It’s not always about the sporting thing you chose when you sign for a club.

“I’m in a situation where I have to think 360 degrees around me, so everybody is happy like this and I am super happy.”

Ibrahimovic, who has accepted reduced terms, as reported in

Starsport earlier this week, is on a mission to help United become Premier League champions again.

He has refused to put a timescale on when he will be back, but will wear the No.10 shirt vacated by Wayne Rooney when he does return.

He said: “I feel good. There are some people, without even knowing my injury, talking about one year, nine months.

“But I take it day by day. When I am ready, I am ready and when the day comes, I will be more than ready because it’s not about coming back and playing at 50 per cent or 80 per cent.

“I don’t want to have any excuses when I’m on the field, like, ‘He has been injured, he has just come back’.

“When I’m back, I’m back. I want to have the same pressure like every year I’ve had and the same expectation like always. I’ve come back to finish what I started.”

Ibrahimovic is relishing the chance to play alongside new £75m signing Romelu Lukaku, adding: “I’m happy he came. I think the team is much stronger this season.

“Signing Lukaku makes us even stronger because he has different qualities from me as a striker and Marcus Rashford as a striker. He is a powerful guy and he will bring some extra quality in the game.”
