WARNOCK’S HEART ’N SOL

-

NEIL WARNOCK believes Sol Bamba can help Cardiff back to the Premier League.

The experienced defender, 32, has just signed a new three-year deal with the Championship leaders.

Bamba has made a superb start to the new season with the Bluebirds and Warnock said: “Sol is like a young pup at the moment and it’s nice to tie him down.

“He’s done really well and it’s only right we give him some security. I’d play him in the top flight if we get there, let alone the Championship.”

Cardiff lead the table on 12 points having conceded just one goal in the league and Warnock’s men host QPR today looking for a fifth straight win.

Warnock added: “I had a number of clubs interested in Sol over the summer.

“But I spoke with the owner and the chairman and they agreed a new deal was ®Êby ALEX BYWATER the way forward. Sol and Sean Morrison have been really good for us at the back.

“Usually I would say a three-year deal might be too long for a guy who’s nearly 33 but with the pace Sol has he is an inspiration to the other guys.”

Warnock is ready to let Anthony Pilkington, Declan John and Craig Noone move before the transfer window shuts but is looking to bring in a midfielder on loan.

However the veteran boss insists star striker Kenneth Zohore is going nowhere.

“You never know what is going to happen in the window but if Kenneth stays here and has another good season then he can go and play at the highest level,” said Warnock.

“Sometimes players get bad advice and agents play a part but I hope he stays.”
