Romantic dance drama. A wannabe dancer teams up with a group of Miami street performers whose leader she’s fallen in love with, helping organise a show to protest against local demolition plans. Stars Kathryn McCormick and Ryan Guzman.

Western. John Wayne stars as an exUnion Army colonel on a mission to recover a consignmen­t of gold bullion pinched from a train during the American Civil War. Also stars Jorge Rivero and Christophe­r Mitchum.

Action adventure. A bunch of Vikings steal a ship and sail off in search of a legendary giant bell reportedly made of solid gold. But others have their greedy eyes on it too. Stars Richard Widmark and Sidney Poitier.

The second John Wayne western of the afternoon, this mid-50s classic finds him playing a American Civil War veteran searching for his kidnapped niece. Also stars Natalie Wood, Jeffrey Hunter and Vera Miles.

Premiere. Eddie Redmayne deservedly picked up multiple awards, including the Best Actor Oscar, for his heart-rending performanc­e here as genius astrophysi­cist Stephen Hawking, diagnosed at 21 with motor neurone disease. Based on the memoirs of Hawking’s ex-wife Jane (played here by Felicity Jones), it’s an unforgetta­ble tale of romance against the odds and of sheer human endeavour. Also stars David Thewlis.

Drama, based on the novel by Salman Rushdie. Two babies born at midnight on August 15, 1947 – the day India becomes independen­t of British rule – are switched at birth. One grows into poverty, the other into great wealth, but both share a magical gift.

Horror. A medical student cobbles together a living creature from various parts of old corpses he’s stolen, then leaves it to its fate. He’s soon going to wish he hadn’t done that. Stars Robert De Niro.
