Towie star a Wright prat in US promo
TELLY ‘HERO’ MOCKED
TWITTER users tore into Mark Wright after he was dubbed a “soccer hero”.
The former Towie hunk was even shown playing “for England” in a promo on a US TV channel.
The video, for his new E! channel job, actually shows him at a Soccer Aid event.
Viewers ripped into the Essex lad, 30, after he was described as “one of the biggest stars in the UK” and shown in trunks as a “top model”.
One posted: “America don’t be fooled.
“Mark Wright isn’t the UK’s biggest star. He’s just a reality TV t**t.”
Another said: “Pass me the sick bucket please, how can Mark Wright be one of the biggest stars in the UK?”
The video promises: “When he is not globetrotting as an international ® DJ, Mark gets hearts racing as an in-demand cover model, starring in commercials for everything from sports apparel to yogurt.” His friendship with James Corden, left, also gets a mention. Mark has relocated to Los Angeles full-time to become an entertainment reporter for E!. His wife Michelle Keegan used Instagram to send her husband her support in his new job. Michelle, 30, who has a fresh series of Army drama Our Girl out later this year, wrote: “1st day in his new job! Good luck! #soproud”. Some fans also rallied round the tanned star. One wrote: “Haters will hate. The boy has done well. “He can fly the flag for us.”
