Paedo, 101, in payout

A PAEDOPHILE aged 101 who sexually abused a girl 40 years ago has been ordered to pay her £25,000.

Douglas Hammersley, 102 this month, admitted three indecent assaults against a girl under 14.

Hammersley, of New Malden, Surrey, was also given a two-year suspended jail sentence at Aylesbury Crown Court, Bucks.

The victim, now in her 40s, went to police after his 100th birthday was reported in a local paper.

Judge Francis Sheridan told her: “You are a brave woman and I applaud your determination for justice.”
