More Good Luck at Brighton

- By CHRIS GOULDING

GOOD LUCK CHARM showed he clearly enjoys a day out at the seaside when he won for the fifth time at Brighton yesterday.

“He loves Brighton and everything went right for him,” said winning trainer Gary Moore after the gelding landed the Stacatruc Handicap in the hands of Hector Crouch.

“He broke the mould a bit as that is the first time he has won twice in a season. I’m so pleased for the syndicate who own him. He doesn’t seem like an eight-year-old.

“He saves plenty for himself and that’s how he’s been able to go on for so long.”

Yorkshire trainer Mark Johnston made it a worthwhile day out on the Sussex coast for Storm Cry after the filly landed the opening Call Star Sports Handicap. The daughter of Poet’s Voice looked in trouble two furlongs from home as long-time leader Flowing Clarets appeared to have slipped the field.

But that rival soon came back to them and Storm Cry found plenty for jockey David Probert.

Rastrelli, a 550,00 euro purchase, finally went about repaying some of his lofty price-tag when taking the EBF Stakes for trainer Charlie Appleby and jockey George Wood.
