WAYNE Rooney is due in court today charged with drinkdriving after he was stopped by police with a woman in her car while wife Coleen was away.

Yesterday the Everton star was taunted over an unfortunate sponsors’ name on his shirt.

WAYNE Rooney was taunted by fans yesterday after playing in a shirt with “Angry Birds” written on the sleeve.

Sniggering supporters joked the footballer must know a thing or two about them following his bust-up with wife Coleen after being arrested for drink-driving in another woman’s car.

The former England captain started for Everton in their clash against his old club Manchester United despite being due in Stockport Magistrates’ Court later today accused of drink-driving.

Though he got a warm reception from fans at the Old Trafford stadium, he still ended the day with the Blues as his new side were thumped 4-0.

To add insult to injury Coleen did not show up and Rooney was mercilessly trolled over Everton’s new sponsor.

It was the first time players had worn the Angry Birds logo on their left shirt sleeves since the club signed a deal with Rovio Entertainment, which makes the best-selling game app.

One fan tweeted: “Wonder if the Angry Birds sponsorship deal with #Everton was inspired by Coleen Rooney?”

Another joked: “Rooney must be p ***** off with the sight of angry birds.” Other messages included: “Coleen is officially the new sleeve sponsor for Everton FC. My mistake, its Angry Birds.”

Rooney was arrested at the wheel of party girl Laura Simpson’s black VW Beetle at 2am on September 1.

The property lettings agent, 29, who was in the passenger seat, claimed they had “kissed and cuddled” after meeting in a nightclub in Wilmslow, Cheshire.

Furious Coleen, 31, who had been away on a sunshine holiday, spent the night with her parents and removed her wedding ring after flying back.

But she has now returned to their £6million family home in Prestbury, Cheshire. She reportedly softened her stance after discovering Laura – who once advertised for a rich lover on a “sugar daddy” website – had previously targeted other footballers.
