Menace US and we will destroy you
DONALD Trump branded North Korean tyrant Kim Jong-un a “rocket man on a suicide mission” yesterday.
He warned the US would “totally destroy” the country if it continues its nuclear missile threats.
In an explosive speech, the President also urged nations to work together against Kim following his string of recent inflammatory weapons tests.
Speaking at the UN General Assembly in New York for the first time, Mr Trump said: “The United States is ready, willing and able [to act], but hopefully this will not be necessary.”
Outrage
But he said if Kim refused to back down “we will have no choice than to totally destroy North Korea” and added: “Rocket man is on a suicide mission for himself and his regime.”
He said the secretive state’s pursuit of nuclear weapons and ballistic missiles “threatens the entire world with unthinkable cost of human life”.
He added: “It is an outrage that some nations would not only trade with such a regime but would arm, supply and financially support a country that imperils the world.”
North Korea has threatened to turn America into a “sea of flames” as tensions rise following the state’s two launches over Japan.
Mr Trump’s address came days after he spoke with South Korea president Moon Jae-in about UN sanctions to restrict Kim’s gas and oil imports.
The President also attacked Iran, branding the West’s 2015 nuclear deal with Tehran as “an embarrassment”.
