More Vard luck for Reds

LEICESTER are hoping to put the frighteners on Liverpool with a ‘Here’s Jamie!’ warning.

England hitman Jamie Vardy is back from injury and ready to give under-pressure Jurgen Klopp more nightmares.

Liverpool have conceded 10 goals in their last four games and were beaten 2-0 at Leicester in the Carabao Cup in midweek.

Vardy missed that game with a groin injury but he’s back to face the side he loves to score against.

He’s a bogeyman to Liverpool with five goals in his last three league outings against them.

News of Vardy’s return was probably the last thing Reds boss Klopp wanted to hear as he prepares for a crunch return to the King Power.

Foxes boss Craig Shakespeare said: “Jamie trained this morning and hopefully there’s no reaction. He’s ready to be involved.

“We’ve had to take it a bit easy with him for the first part of the week but he was really keen to get back out there.

“Is he a bogeyman? I’m hoping so. Sometimes strikers have good memories against certain teams.

“Centre-forwards go through these purple patches and everybody would like one who can get you 20 goals a season.”

Shakespeare has warned his men that the Cup win will count for nothing, though, adding: “Liverpool showed us in the first half what an array of talent they have. If we let them get on top it is going to be very hard for us.”

Former Leicester boss Nigel Pearson has made a shock return to management with Leicester’s ‘sister’ club little-known Belgian side OH Leuven.

The second-tier outfit and the Foxes share the same Thai owners, King Power.
