WHAT’S HOT TO WATCH TODAY

- MIKE WARD

THE drama builds on

RELLIK (9pm, BBC1), the twisty cop drama told backwards. Detective Gabriel Markham’s physical scars are there for all to see, but it’s his emotional scars that threaten to undermine his investigation into the killings.

Tonight, his colleagues raise questions about his suitability to lead the case when Gabriel’s struggle to balance work and home life puts his family in danger.

ITV’s dramatic offering, LIAR (9pm), sees Laura mortified when her hidden past is revealed, putting her rape claim under scrutiny. But she tries to keep her feelings under control for the sake of a pupil who needs her help. A NEW science series sees doctor twins Chris and Xander van Tulleken explore why human childhood lasts so long. In THE HUMAN BODY: SECRETS OF

YOUR LIFE REVEALED (9pm, BBC2), they’ll also look at the mysterious trigger that takes us from children to adults. IT’S nice to see the BBC poking fun at itself in the sitcom W1A (10pm, BBC2), in which fictional BBC Head of Values Ian Fletcher (Hugh Bonneville) comes under pressure to find a new role for cross-dressing ex-footballer Ryan Chelford (Ben Batt). Despite Chelford possessing no obvious talents, Ian knows that denying him a TV job will make the BBC look prejudiced. IT’S date night over on Channel 4, where THE

UNDATEABLES (9pm) sees another batch of people with challenging conditions looking for love – they include Sam, who has autism, and Katy, who has Tourette’s Syndrome. FIRST

DATES (10pm) sees the lovelorn pitch up at a London eatery for a date, among them five-timesengaged Aldine, who’s never made it down the aisle.
