MOCKED BY FANS

LIAM Gallagher has been mocked by fans – after they found out his real name is William.

Music lovers have discovered the singer, 45, was born William John Paul Gallagher.

And they poked fun at the working-class rock hero for having “such a posh” name.

One tweeted: “William Gallagher. Slightly less rock and roll.”

Another said: “Finding out Liam Gallagher’s name is acc William has changed everything, he should be so much more upper class.”

It is thought the star’s Irish parents Thomas and Peggy called him Liam from when he was young. But cheeky fans mocked the Mancunian rocker online.

Some sent him messages taking the mickey out of his Twitter sign-off “as you were LG x”. One wrote: “As you were WG x.”

Meanwhile, Liam yesterday hit out again at older brother Noel.

Blasting Noel’s new sound, he wrote: “Psychedelic music by a beige drip is like a vegetarian trying to sell you a kebab.”

He added: “Wheeling out your old mate uri geller and har mar superstar to make a so-called ‘out there’ record snoozer.”

But Liam did claim that recent comments on his Twitter account slamming Noel’s emotional Manchester Arena reopening gig were not written by him.

He said: “Someone hacked into it and tweeted them for me. I wouldn’t do that stuff. The police are looking into it as we speak.”
