PLAYBOY founder Hugh Hefner has died peacefully surrounded by loved ones at the age of 91.

But it emerged last night that his wife Crystal Harris will not receive a penny of his estimated £38million fortune.

Hefner, the founder of the original lads’ mag, passed away from natural causes at his famous Playboy mansion.

He was surrounded by pals and his famous Bunny glamour girls.

Playboy tweeted a black and white photo of its creator, with his quote: “Life is too short to be living somebody else’s dream.”

Fans flocked for a vigil outside the home of Hefner, who had run his empire since 1953.

Many stars have posed nude for the magazine over the years, including Kate Moss and Madonna.

Among the celebrities to pay tribute was Kim Kardashian, who also stripped off for Playboy. She tweeted: “RIP to the legendary Hugh Hefner! I’m so honoured to have been a part of the Playboy team.”

Reality TV star Kendra Wilkinson, who was 18 when she first moved into the Playboy mansion, said: “I couldn’t be more thankful for our friendship and our time together. I will miss him so much but he will be in my heart forever.”

Crystal, who was his third wife, will not receive a penny of his fortune because the half-British ex-Playboy Playmate agreed to a contract before their wedding in 2012. It means that, while she will be cared for, she will not actually inherit anything.

Hefner had already sold the mansion for £74million, with the new owner telling him he could see out his days there. Former cover girl Carmen Elektra has urged the new owner to turn it into a museum

Hefner will be buried in a crypt next to the first-ever Playboy cover girl – Marilyn Monroe.
