BLESSED ARE THE

For robot dolls will make them sex gods

SEX robots could turn geeks into wild sexual gods, according to an expert in the machines.

The shock claim was made by lecturer John Danaher, who has co-authored a book on the saucy dolls.

Lifelike machines now being sold in Britain promise a “full experience” for owners, including having a sexy chat.

The law lecturer at a university in Galway, Ireland, said: “One of the things that they could do is distribute sexual experiences more wildly to people who aren’t considered conventionally attractive.

“They are denied access to sexual partners because they do not conform to conventional norms (of attractiveness).

“They are not determined to be suitable sexual partners by their peers.”

Mr Danaher, who co-wrote Robot Sex, added: “The issue with (sex) robots is that they would have to improve on many fronts at once. Their intelligence, their emotional intelligence, their ability to respond to what the user wants.

“This is already happening but when they will all come together and reach a critical point, I wouldn’t be willing to predict.”

Despite technology advances, Mr Danaher does not believe that sex robots will spell the end of prostitutes because most people still prefer to have contact with a human.

Only 10 to 15% of people, he said, admit they would be willing to have sex with a robot.

Most people still say they are “creeped” out by them.

Mr Danaher added: “I do not tend to think that they can replace human relationships. An average human would prefer human contact.

“People tend to be creeped out by robots that are human like, They find it unnerving or upsetting.”

His book, published by MIT Press, is due to go on sale next month.
