ARM-ED AND DANGEROUS

Red-hot Kane’s Lions goal

-

HARRY KANE is desperate for his sensational scoring streak to continue this week – with or without the England armband.

The Tottenham superstar is the hottest striker in world football after netting 13 times in September – including two stunners as Spurs trounced Huddersfield.

There is just no stopping him right now and he wants to keep hitting the back of the net for the Three Lions in their World Cup qualifiers against Slovenia and Lithuania.

Kane captained England for the first time against Scotland in June and again in a friendly against France.

Liverpool’s Jordan Henderson took the armband in the last two internationals.

But while Kane would love to do the job again, he knows his first priority is to score the goals that will get England to next summer’s World Cup in Russia.

The Three Lions need two more points to be certain and Kane said: “I have had the England armband and it was a very proud moment.

“Whoever Gareth (Southgate) picks as captain, the team will get behind him and we will focus on the job. I feel like one of the leaders but we have plenty of leaders in the England team.

“It’s been a good month. As a striker sometimes you go through patches like this.

“I said in August, sometimes it goes for you, sometimes it doesn’t, but this month it has gone my way and I am sad the month is ending. “I’ll focus on scoring and continuing this form into October. That is the most important thing – do your talking on the pitch. That is all that matters.” Kane and Spurs blew the Terriers away in the first half as the red-hot striker clipped a classy opener past Jonas Lossl after nine minutes before Ben Davies capped off a scintillating build-up by doubling the lead soon after. Kane then hit another beauty, holding off two defenders, turning and curling in a wonderful effort from 20 yards. He added: “I just feel confident. I feel any chances I get around the box I will score or definitely work the keeper. “It is a pleasure to play in this team. I am there to finish it off and put most GOOD SHOUT: Kane celebrates of the chances away.” After the break, Spurs put their feet up but added more shine to the scoreline in injury time as Moussa Sissoko bundled home from close range.

Huddersfield huffed and puffed all game but were second best – and knew it.

Midfielder Aaron Mooy said: “You can’t give quality teams like that goals so easily.

“They are one of the best sides in the league and you could tell that.

“They have lots of quality all over the pitch. Their movement is very, very good and makes it very difficult for you to win the ball. But we’ve got to take it on the chin and learn from the experience.” HUDDERSFIELD (4-5-1): Lossl 6; Smith 6, Hogg 6 (Whitehead 82), Kachunga (Malone 5, Lowe 5 60, 6); Van la Parra 6, DEPOITRE 5, Jorgensen 7, Ince 5, Mooy 6 (Billing 61, 5); Schindler 6.
