- By ANTONY THROWER

At least 58 dead & 515 injured at country gig

Killer blasted for 10 mins into packed crowd

® THE bloodbath in Las Vegas is just the latest massacre in a long series of mass shootings in the US.

Before the weekend, the most deaths recorded in a gun rampage came at the gay nightclub Pulse in Orlando, Florida, where 49 were murdered and 58 injured in June last year.

Gunman Omar Mateen, who was shot dead by police, called 911 before entering the nightclub, reportedly stating his allegiance to Islamic State.

He had been on the radar of the FBI before he set off on his killing spree.

Student Seung-Hui Cho went on a shooting rampage at Virginia Tech university in Blacksburg, Virginia, in 2007, killing 32 and wounding 17 before turning the gun on himself.

In two separate attacks, he first claimed two victims in student halls before going to the university where he picked off terrified students and then gunned down those who were trying to tend to the injured.

Between the two shootings he sent a package to the NBC TV network in New York including a 1,800-word “manifesto”, photos and videos.

Adam Lanza, 20, shocked the world in 2012 when he killed 20 children aged between six and seven and six adults at Sandy Hook Elementary School in Newtown, Connecticut.

Police later found his mother dead of a head wound at home.

As officers arrived on the scene Lanza, who was said to be obsessed by mass shootings, turned his gun on himself.

In 2013 Aaron Alexis, 34, fatally shot 12 and injured three others at the headquarters of the Naval Sea Systems Command in Washington, DC. He was later killed by cops.

The Columbine High School massacre in Colorado in 1999 remains one of the most shocking ever seen as Dylan Klebold and Eric Harris killed 12 students and one teacher in a highly-planned attack.

They also injured 21 others before killing themselves.
