Go grime time

-

THE most successful partnership to come out of this year’s Love Island is still going strong.

Following their blossoming bromance on the dating show, Chris Hughes and Kem Cetinay have signed a huge record deal.

The duo’s onscreen rapping has led them to secure a deal with one of the UK’s biggest labels, Relentless Records/ Sony Music, responsible for previously launching So Solid Crew, Professor Green, Artful Dodger and Craig David.

It comes after Chris and Kem befriended grime superstar Stormzy, who expressed a desire to work with the boys, and taught them a thing or two backstage at V Festival.

And later they impressed label bosses with a show-stopping performance at London’s Ministry of Sound.

The guys’ first single is Little Bit Leave It, their official Love Island saying. It keeps true to their love of grime and was produced by Z Dot, who works with with Stormzy, Wiley, and Professor Green.

Kem said: “Never in my wildest dreams did I think one day I’d be releasing my own single. Chris and I have worked really hard on it.”

He hinted Stormzy could feature on their debut album, adding: “He’s been really good with us. He’s helped a lot.”

They aren’t the first pair to make a music career from a stint on TV. PJ & Duncan, now known as Ant & Dec, left drama Byker Grove to make three studio albums.

Little Bit Leave It is available to download now.
