A COUPLE who won £100,000 on a Lottery scratchcard were brutally robbed days after posing with a giant cheque.

Lee Davies, 27, and fiancée Carryann Copestick, 26, planned to spend the cash on a new home and dream wedding.

But 10 days after being pictured at Wolverhampton Wanderers’ Molineux stadium they were woken by masked raiders.

Three men armed with knives and steel bars burst into their home at 3.30am on Monday demanding cash and jewellery.

Shipping clerk Lee was battered with a bar before the gang escaped with £11,000 of jewellery including a £4,000 gold chain which he had bought with the winnings. They ® also stole three iPhones worth £1,500 and keys.

Dad-of-three Lee said: “We were both asleep in bed and these men dressed in black with balaclavas, knives and bars came in the room.

“They shouted: ‘Where is the money? Where is the gold?’

“One of them had a bar and was whacking me, saying: ‘Keep quiet, don’t move.’

“I don’t wish I hadn’t won the money but obviously it’s brought a lot of trouble with it. I do wish we hadn’t gone public.”

The Wolverhampton couple are offering £2,000 to find the gang and recover their belongings.

West Midlands Police said: “An investigation is under way.”
