Gunners star to fire warns Jack

ARSENAL’S Alexandre Lacazette has been overshadowed by Alvaro Morata this season – but his best is yet to come.

That is the view of Gunners midfielder Jack Wilshere, who says his £52.7m team-mate is ready to set the Premier League alight. France striker Lacazette has scored four goals in eight games since his big-money summer move from Lyon, three less than Morata’s seven in nine for Chelsea. But with the Spain star on the sidelines with a hamstring injury, Wilshere believes it is now Lacazette’s time to shine. He said: “He has gone a little bit under the radar, with Morata doing so well. “But to come in from the French league to a big club in England and score four goals in his first seven or eight games is very good. “His movement is world class and he’s only going to ® get better. He nearly scored against Brighton early on and it could have been goal of the season.

“Sometimes he comes to feet and then he can go in behind as well. I’m sure there’s much more to come from him.”

Wilshere also reckons Arsenal signed “a monster” in Sead Kolasinac, who was a free transfer from Schalke. He said: “Sead is a real fans’ favourite because he’s no-nonsense, even in training.

“He’s a natural-born winner, a monster physically – and you’d hate to play against him.

“You look at when the winger receives the ball, he’s onto him, not giving him an inch.”

Arsenal have hit a purple patch since they were thrashed 4-0 at Liverpool, winning six out of seven games and earning a goalless draw at Chelsea.

Next up is a trip to Watford on Saturday, with Wilshere, who broke his leg last April, eager to play a part after being limited to Europa League and League Cup action so far this term. He said: “We’re getting better and need to keep it going as there are bigger tests to come.’’ Meanwhile, Mesut Ozil’s agent claims talks to extend his Arsenal contract are “positive”. Ozil, available for the Watford match after recovering from a knee injury, joined Arsenal from Real Madrid in a then-club record £42.5m deal in September 2013, but the German playmaker has not yet penned a new contract. Manchester United and Inter Milan are interested, but his representative Dr Erkut Sogut, said: “Our contacts with Arsenal continue in a positive way.” ¬ Defender Calum Chambers has signed a two-year contract extension.
