Extra charge on HIV ‘victim’
A HAIRDRESSER accused of deliberately infecting his partners with HIV is facing an additional charge.
Daryll Rowe, 26, allegedly set out to spread the virus by pressuring his lovers into unprotected sex.
He was originally charged with four counts of causing grievous bodily harm and six counts of attempted GBH in relation to 10 men.
But yesterday it emerged that doctors proved one of the men Rowe allegedly attempted to infect is now carrying a strain of HIV very similar to that of the defendant.
He now faces an extra charge of causing GBH.
One alleged victim told Lewes Crown Court in East Sussex that Rowe claimed he was clear of HIV.
He said: “He was really insistent that he wanted to have unprotected sex and I stupidly took his word for it.”
Rowe, originally from Edinburgh, denies all charges.
The trial continues.
