Stocks soaring

THE FTSE 100 closed at a record high yesterday after a drop in the value of the pound sparked by concerns over a deadlock in Brexit talks.

The index rose 0.3% or 22.43 points to 7,556.24 by end the day. David Madden, an analyst at CMC Markets UK, said: “The bullish move was achieved for the wrong reasons.”
