Tragic end for ‘perfect angel’

ST PAUL’S GIRL LEFT 2 NOTES

- By ALEXANDER BROWN

A TALENTED figure skater who fell to her death in St Paul’s Cathedral left two suicide notes.

Lidia Dragescu addressed one to her mother and one to those who saw her fall.

Her mum Isabela said: “She was perfect, pure and an angel who loved St Paul’s.”

The devout Christian declared she could not “wait to see what is on the other side”.

Writing in her native Romanian to her mum, she said: “It would be natural to be upset but do not be for me, I am better now, in a better place.

“It will be very difficult without me for a time but after this you will be OK.”

In a note to those who saw her fall 100ft from the famous Whispering Gallery she said: “I am sorry for showing you this ugly sight, please go and be happy about your lives.”

The 23-year-old A-grade student had just started a science degree and dreamed of being a brain surgeon.

She was praised as “kind and selfless”. Her mum added: “Her heart was pure and kind, a soul from another world.”

Lidia moved from Romania five years ago with Isabela, twin brother Vlad and younger brother Gabriel, 16, and lived in Romford, Essex. Her mum said Vlad “will never celebrate his birthday again”.
