Foy squirms as viewers rap knee-grab Sandler
ADAM Sandler has been blasted by viewers after he repeatedly touched Brit star Claire Foy during a chat show.
The Crown beauty, 33, was left squirming when the actor put his hand on her knee during The Graham Norton Show.
Her efforts to brush away his hand went unnoticed, and he soon placed it back ® on her knee. The incident comes as Hollywood is engulfed in a sexual harassment scandal, following claims against producer Harvey Weinstein.
Fellow guest Emma Thompson, a critic of Weinstein, 65, could not steer clear of Sandler either, who touched the Oscar winner’s leg on the red sofa.
Shocked viewers slammed the Hollywood funnyman, 51, on social media. One wrote: “Adam Sandler touching Claire Foy’s knee for no reason, she put his hand back, he then does it again. She looked rightly p***ed off.”
Another said: “Felt very uncomfortable watching Adam repeatedly put his unwanted hand on the knee of Claire Foy.”
Last night a spokeswoman for the actress insisted she was not offended.
She said: “We don’t believe anything was intended by Adam’s gesture.”
Thompson, 58, who stars alongside Sandler in The Meyerowitz Stories, has said sexual harassment was “endemic” in Hollywood.
A spokesman for Sandler later described the actor’s actions as “blown out of proportion”.
Weinstein’s representative Sallie Hofmeister has denied all allegations of non-consensual sex.
