WARD A CHEEK

Hospital patient has ‘drug party’

- By RUTH McKEE ruth.mckee@dailystar.co.uk

A BUSINESSWOMAN has posted pictures that appear to show her having a drug party on a hospital ward.

Rebecca Barns-Gambrell, 39, uploaded the shocking pictures showing lines of white powder.

With medical equipment clearly visible in the background, she seems to be exhaling smoke next to the lines.

Another picture shows a pal leaning over the powder and then tilting her head back. A caption posted by Rebecca to online party group “The Sesh” said: “When your mate visits you in hospital and you got your stash in your bag naturally and it’s party behind the curtains !!.. Saturday night stops for no man.. or woman.”

But after the post went viral the recruitment company boss from Plymouth insisted she was actually slamming drug use. The mum of one, who spent two nights in hospital as a patient, said: “My friend and I were mocking it up as a joke when I was in hospital.

Horror

“I’ve made a conscious decision to get rid of a lot of people that have that background.

“The post was a horror post. I detest seeing it (drugs) all being publicly posted all the time.” Rebecca, a former admin worker with Plymouth City Council, added: “The white powder didn’t belong to me or my friend.”

Rebecca claimed the powder was immediately handed in to hospital staff after the snaps were taken.

Plymouth Hospitals NHS Trust said: “We are investigating.”
