Moyes to fit the Bil

- By PAUL BROWN

SLAVEN BILIC was a dead man walking last night – with David Moyes being lined up to replace him. West Ham have decided Bilic’s time is up and he could be sacked today if they can agree a deal to bring in Moyes (left). Hammers boss Bilic has been fighting for his job for weeks but the final straw was Saturday’s 4-1 thumping at

home to Liverpool. Thousands of fans walked out before the end and co-owners David Sullivan and David Gold believe it is now time for a change.

Moyes has made no secret he is interested in the job and would likely bring in former West Brom head coach Alan Irvine as his assistant.

West Ham sounded out Guus Hiddink but it is understood he has reservations about the job.

Rafa Benitez was also mentioned but does not want to leave Newcastle.

Moyes said yesterday: “I’m interested, yes. But at the moment it’s not available. I’ve been there myself and I know what Slaven’s going through.

“He must be hating it and wanting to get a result as quickly as he can. So if it becomes available, yes. But at the moment it’s not available.

“For me to go back in it means a manager has lost his job and I wouldn’t wish that on anybody.

“I’ve always said I wanted to go back into club management. If the right opportunity comes around then I’ll be interested.”

Former Manchester United boss Moyes has not managed since resigning at Sunderland in May.
