Keep calm and Carey on

- By JASON MELLOR

DEREK ADAMS has challenged his Plymouth players to prove they are not just a one-man band.

Argyle travel to promotionchasing Bradford without fourgoal top scorer Graham Carey, who sits out his second ban of the season – a one-match suspension for five bookings, to go with a red card earlier in the campaign.

League One’s player of the month for October has won rave reviews for his displays as the Devon club struggles to adapt to ® the higher division after winning promotion last season.

Veteran Lionel Ainsworth or former Spurs trainee Ruben Lameiras will get the nod as Argyle look to stretch a five-game unbeaten run in a bid to climb off the bottom of the table.

And Adams backed his squad to fill the void left by Carey, in a dress rehearsal for next month’s FA Cup second-round clash.

He said: “Graham’s been a big player for us ever since he joined a couple of years ago.

“He’s weighed in with a number of important goals and assists and is a big reason why we’ve got the results we have recently.

“But we’ve got other people who will get their chance now.”

And Adams insists his side won’t park the bus against their promotion-chasing opponents.

The Scot added: “We’ve got players who are more than capable of opening up opposition defences.”
