Rebel Tories’ threat to May
FORTY Tory MPs have vowed to sign a letter of no confidence in Theresa May.
They say they are fed up with the lack of progress on Brexit.
Eight more would be needed to force a leadership challenge.
The threat came as Boris Johnson and Michael Gove wrote a letter to Mrs May urging a hard Brexit.
They want the PM to bring rebel Cabinet ministers to heel.
And they say Chancellor Philip Hammond is letting the EU hold Britain “over a barrel” by refusing to plan for a “no-deal” scenario.
Tory rebels are set to side with Labour to defeat the Government on certain clauses in the EU withdrawal bill tomorrow.
Labour leader Jeremy Corbyn said: “Uncertainty about the Government’s approach to Brexit is now the biggest risk facing our country.
“The Prime Minister must end the confusion and take on the ‘no-deal’ extremists in her government.”
