‘Trans’ bungle for Sir

A TEACHER faces the sack after accidentally calling a transgender boy a “girl” in class.

Joshua Sutcliffe, 27, made the slip when he spotted the pupil and a friend working hard.

He told the pair “well done girls” and, when they pointed out the gaffe, he immediately apologised.

But school bosses suspended the maths graduate.

He has now been summoned to face serious charges of “misgendering” the pupil.

The pupil’s parents are also furious the Oxfordshire teacher has been referring to the youngster by name – avoiding using “him” or “he”.

Mr Sutcliffe says it is “political correctness gone mad”.

The teacher added: “I have been shocked and saddened by the actions of the school.”
