Potholes ‘fatal for cyclists’

-

CYCLISTS could die because of rules relaxing repairs to potholes, an inquest heard.

Peter Sigee, assistant coroner for Greater Manchester North, said a Government change in procedures “increased the risk”.

It follows the death of Roger Hamer, 83, who fell off his bike in Ramsbottom, Lancs, last year.

Mr Sigee said that he probably died after his bicycle had hit a pothole.
