Forces close to collapse

YEARS of defence cuts have left the armed forces “close to breaking”.

MPs on the Commons Defence Committee were told that the Army was “20 years out of date”.

Ex-Commander General Sir Richard Barrons added: “We are looking at North Korea which within 18 to 20 months will mate a nuclear missile to an intercontinental-range missile which can reach London. We cannot deal with that.”
