ME AND ANT JUST FINE SAYS MISSUS

Host’s wife at home to ‘do her job’

- EXCLUSIVE from ANDREW JAMESON in AUSTRALIA andrew.jameson@dailystar.co.uk

ANT McPartlin’s missus has laughed off rumours that their marriage is in trouble.

Lisa Armstrong says she is not with him on I’m A Celebrity in Australia because: “I have my own job to do.”

She blasted suggestions the couple are estranged after the telly star’s troubled past six months and time in rehab for drug addiction.

Fans speculated as to why she has not travelled Down Under for his threeweek stint hosting I’m A Celeb with pal Declan Donnelly.

Dec’s wife Ali Astall is with the pair in the Gold Coast because she is their manager.

But Lisa pointed out she must stay in the UK where she is head make-up artist on Strictly Come Dancing, which does not finish until next month.

She said: “Haven’t been to Oz for 10 years. I have a job. I’m not estranged thank you. As you were.”

Her outburst follows reports the couple, who have been together for 23 years and married since 2006, were “leading separate lives”.

Botched

Ant was also said to have moved into a £1.6million rental home close to their mansion in London.

The popular Geordie host admitted earlier in the year their struggles to have a baby had put a strain on the marriage.

His drug problem, which started after a he was victim of a botched knee operation, has also caused friction.

He apologised at the time for putting Lisa “through hell” and thanked her for her “amazing support”.

After his spell in rehab in the UK and time spent recovering in Los Angeles, Ant has now been reunited with Dec in time for the ITV Jungle show.

After landing in Oz, the 41-year-old said: “I’m feeling great.

“The flight was all right. I had a lot of sleep and me and Dec had a good catch-up.”

Dec, 42, told the Daily Star how happy he was to have his pal back by his side after a tough year.

He said: “It’s brilliant to be back together, it’s perfect. Everything just slotted back into place.

“We can’t wait and we’re raring to go.”
