“Providing our customers with everyday low prices is at the heart of what we do by offering a selection of highlight products at incredible prices.

“This is a highly anticipated event in the consumer calendar, especially as households turn their focus on ® to Christmas planning. We know our fantastic promotion will not disappoint.” Not only do Lidl hope to steal a march on their opposition with a string of bargains, they also plan to hold their sale 24 hours ahead of everyone else. It will take place in all their 680 UK stores next Thursday– the day before their rivals launch their own traditional Friday sales. A Lidl spokesman said the company was offering “only the most exciting deals” with prices cut by up to 75%. “The offers will only be available for a limited time so customers are advised to make the most of these great value deals while stocks last,” she added. Shoppers welcomed the news on social media. One said: “It’s insane.” Another wrote: “I’ve tried the Cimarosa Australian Chardonnay. It was good value when it was sold at £3.99, even better value now.'” “Big into this Black Friday offer from Lidl,”' said a third. CHRISTMAS shoppers are being warned to watch out for online scams. Research from Barclays claims a quarter of cases of fraud take place during the festive season.
