AND THEY ARE TOFF

He bungles ‘hell hole’ grub task

BUMBLING Stanley Johnson aped his son Boris’s gaffes by failing his first I’m A Celebrity trial.

The 77-year-old blundered during a “hell hole” challenge – and it cost his hungry camp-mates a slap-up supper.

Wags said it was a case of “like father, like son” as Stanley urged comedienne Shappi Korsandi to set off the wrong flare to mark the end of a task.

All 10 celebrities on the ITV show were paired up before they made it into the jungle camp and were warned that success was vital to survival.

Stanley was partnered with Shappi and he was dropped by helicopter into a jungle clearing and had to face an upturned boat with four “hell holes” in its hull.

He had to reach inside – where nasties including crabs, rats and toads lurked –and grab tokens painted in different colours.

At the end of the task, he had to radio his partner Shappi and tell her the colour that had been used the most.

She then had to skydive into the bush, swim to shore

and set off the flare which corresponded to Stanley’s answer .

But he told her to set off a green flare when it should have been the purple one. This meant the pair lost a meal for camp.

To their embarrassment they were the only ones who flopped.

Wag Rebekah Vardy and former Chelsea footballer Dennis Wise did the same “hell hole” trial and won a dinner.

And the other stars – Amir Khan, Vanessa White, Jack Maynard, Jennie McAlpine, Jamie Lomas and Georgia Toffolo – all managed to negotiate wobbly planks 334ft up in the air on the Aussie Gold Coast to win their meal tickets.

Humiliated Stanley told the gang: “I have managed to lose a ration.”

A camp share-out meant the girls got to dine on kangaroo meat but most of the guys had to make do with basic rations of just rice and beans.
