HISSY FIT AMIR IS BIG JUNGLE FAKE
Boxer’s snake phobia KO’d by python snap
AMIR Khan has been accused of faking his snake phobia in a desperate bid to win I’m A Celebrity.
The tough guy boxer screamed as he grabbed a python during a failed Bushtucker Trial.
He wimped out of the challenge – and was then voted by the public to take on the next task last night.
But despite his apparent phobia, photos emerged yesterday of the fighter happily standing next to a much bigger snake at a nightclub.
It led to viewers branding him a “fake”. One said: “Amir afraid of snakes? This photo says differently. Hmmmm.”
Another wrote: “Could this all be a big sham to win public sympathy?”
Earlier fans mocked Amir for his failure, dubbing him “Amir Khan’t”.
Even his wife Faryal Makhdoom, who he reunited with only hours before flying out to the Jungle, went online to poke fun at him.
Terrifying
She wrote on Twitter: “I don’t think my hubby @amirkingkhan realizes what he got himself into.”
But yesterday, just 24 hours after his disaster in the underground chamber with Georgia Toffolo, the 30-yearold succeeded in a terrifying underwater challenge.
Amir looked set for another failure as he kept losing the all-important keys while swimming through a tank full of crayfish. But he emerged victorious to redeem himself.
The Bolton fighter later gave the meal ticket he had won to Stanley Johnson.
His campmates praised him for the selfless decision, and forgave him for the previous day’s failure.
Dennis Wise said: “He didn’t understand the game. It was just a natural reaction.
“He’s not let us down and I think we’re all chuffed to bits for him. It’s great that he’s got a meal ticket.” Toff added: “We were all so pleased for him. He looked so relieved.”
Stanley, 77, said: “Amir came back brandishing a meal ticket and hands it to me and says he wants to give it to me, and I’m touched beyond belief and I shall do my best to deserve the honour.”
