Players can’t even change lightbulbs

- By JERRY LAWTON jerry.lawton@dailystar.co.uk

HOW many Manchester United players does it take to change a lightbulb?

None – and that’s because the Premier League giants pay someone to do it for them.

The club is advertising for a player care property technician to attend to their stars’ every need from mending their cars to cleaning their Jacuzzis.

It is every fan’s dream job as it involves hanging out at the players’ homes and maintaining “good working relations with players, families, agents and staff ”.

It entails maintaining the stars’ mansions, attending “emergency breakdowns of equipment” and “assisting with house moves”.

Applicants need a full driving licence, a good knowledge of the Manchester area and must have a criminal record check.

The closing date for applications is today.

Former United defender Patrice Evra, 36, said the club’s player liaison manager Barry Moorhouse ® used to be their “Mr Fixit” until he left under ex-manager Louis van Gaal.

Evra, who lived in a £3million house in Alderley Edge, Cheshire, said Barry was vital to the club’s success as he allowed footballers to focus entirely on matches.

He said: “You can call him any time and he says he is free. When you have a problem with your car or the Jacuzzi or with the light, every time he is there.’’
