ALEXANDRA Burke sparked a Strictly race row last night as she landed in the dance-off again – sobbing: “Why does everyone hate me?”

She had jointly topped the leader board but viewers still wanted her out.

STRICTLY was hit by a race row last night after Alexandra Burke landed in the dance-off for the second week running. The gutted singer sobbed: “Why does everyone hate me?”

The former X Factor champ had jointly topped the leaderboard on Saturday with 39 out of 40 points from the judges for her Mary Poppins-themed Charleston.

Judge Craig Revel Horwood said it was “crazy” that she was in the dance-off. And Darcey Bussell was left open-mouthed.

Retired Strictly judge Len Goodman said yesterday he would have scored Alexandra a 10, adding: “She was brilliant.”

But some viewers have turned on her and it has led to speculation she may be the victim of racism.

Even though she beat actor Davood Ghadami and dance partner Nadiya Bychkova in last night’s dance-off, she broke down in tears with her partner Gorka Marquez and she kept crying, “Why don’t they like me?” Public reaction was mixed with some viewers furious, but others blaming her personality or suggesting it was race-related.

One tweeted: “Alexandra Burke must have ZERO public support to end up in the bottom 2. Comfortably the best dancer. Possibly the Strictly audience are racist after Ashton’s early exit? #strictly”

A second watcher stormed: “Alexandra Burke in the dance-off ?! Moronic public or even possibly racist?” A further comment was “What a load of old racist tosh.”

Another fan agreed, blasting: “How racist are Strictly voters? Alexandra in the dance off again!”

Others accused her of being “fake” and “a drama queen”.

One said: “I think the public have said very clearly they’re bored with Alexandra Burke’s insincerity and fake showbiz personality.”

BBC sources claim the racism allegation is nonsense, pointing out that last year’s winner was black TV presenter Ore Oduba.

Next week Alexandra, Debbie McGee, Joe McFadden, Mollie King and Gemma Atkinson will each perform two dances.
