Wise fury as bosses face watchdog probe

SHOW bosses could face a probe into the alleged bullying of Iain Lee by Dennis Wise, Amir Khan and Jamie Lomas.

Viewers have bombarded telly watchdog Ofcom with 336 complaints about the campmates’ treatment of the radio host.

It is the highest number about any incident in the history of I’m A Celebrity – not including rows about alleged animal cruelty.

Viewers claim the trio ganged up and bitched about the comedian, who suffers from depression.

But furious Dennis last night insisted that he was not a bully and is “mates” with Iain.

The ex-footballer, who was evicted on Thursday, said he was “gobsmacked” by the reaction.

Dennis said: “My relationship with Iain is fine, I don’t get that.

“I am not a person who likes bullying, I don’t think that is correct.”

Dennis claimed ITV bosses had edited him to look like a “baddie”. He added: “Maybe it’s come across in a bad manner, but it is what it is.”

The 50-year-old said he and Iain got on so well they have already planned to meet up back in England. Dennis added: “Iain is going to a Chelsea game with his kids, I am getting tickets. And we are all going on his radio show as guests.

Strange

“I know his mum is in a care home where I live and we are going to have some dinner together up there. This is really strange for me.”

However, Dennis was still bitching about Iain right up to the moment he left the camp.

In his last appearance in the Bush Telegraph he said: “I’ve done trials and everything I wanted to do and there are other people in here who need to kick-start themselves.

“I got that when Iain wanted to do the trial and I thought ‘you want to do it, I get it, you need the airtime to promote yourself ’.”

But the ex-England pro said he had given Iain pep talks and even given him a kiss on the cheek for encouragement.

Last night Ofcom said it had received more than 200 complaints since Thursday. A spokesman added it would assess the complaints before deciding whether to investigate. ITV has denied the bullying claims.
