Health test after speech jibes
DONALD Trump has hit back at claims he is ill by vowing to have a “full physical exam” and make the results public.
The US President slurred his words during his controversial speech changing US policy towards Israel.
He said: “God blesh you, God blesh Ishrael, God blesh the Palestinians and God blesh the United Shtates.”
It sparked fears for his health, with some commentators even claiming he has dementia.
Others suggested he had suffered a mini-stroke during the speech, or merely had a bad set of dentures.
White House press secretary Sarah Sanders dismissed accusations he was ill. She said: “The president’s throat was dry. Nothing more than that.”
She then revealed Mr Trump will undergo a full medical next year. The results will then be released by doctors, which the White House hope will prove to the public he is in good health. But the official denial was rejected by many in the US. Joe Scarborough – the co-host of current affairs TV show Morning Joe – said Mr Trump may have dementia. Comparing his personality changes to that of his mum, Scarborough said he was scared that a sick leader could be a danger. The worried TV presenter added: “Donald Trump has control of nuclear weapons.” The latest fear comes after Mr Trump recognised Jerusalem as the capital of Israel – a decision opponents likened to “opening the gates of hell”.
