Fresh fight for telly fave

ANT McPartlin was in good spirits as he left Australia yesterday to face up to his problems back home.

The Geordie was praised for his I’m A Celeb comeback following a stint in rehab for drug addiction.

He looked like the Ant of old as he cracked gags with best mate Declan Donnelly and laughed off his 2017 troubles.

But the 42-year-old must now return home to focus on his fractured marriage to Lisa Armstrong.

And he has to get back to the daily grind of recovering from his drug habit.

An insider said: “All of Ant’s focus at rehab was to be ready for the show.

“He’s smashed his return to telly but now is where the hard work starts.

“Without a daily routine, Ant is going to need help with the normal stuff of life.”

After more than a month apart, Ant will spend Christmas with Lisa, who stayed in England to fulfil her duties as head make-up artist on Strictly.

She has denied speculation the couple are estranged.

Earlier in the year, embarrassed Ant apologised to his missus and admitted to putting her “through hell”.

Ant and Dec were in good spirits at Brisbane Airport last night along with celebs including winner Georgia Toffolo.

Dec refused to commit to an 18th series following disappointing ratings, with 9.2million for the final.

Asked whether they would be back, he simply said: “Yeah, hopefully.”
