A WOMAN lives her life on Facebook after being unable to leave her home for two years.

Abby Lewis, 22, suffers from agoraphobia – a fear of public spaces.

Two years ago she had heart palpitations and collapsed on a bus while attempting to meet pals. And now she can’t go further than her back garden.

Abby, who lives via social media channels, said “This is the third Christmas I’ve been stuck at home and haven’t been able to celebrate like I used to.

“This year it has hit hard – not being able to go out Christmas shopping and see all the lights and the happy, excited faces.”

Abby, of Newcastle, says even the thought of visiting her gran four doors away makes her feel physically sick.

She is supported by her boyfriend of four years, Rhys Irving, 22, who visits her for movie nights and meals in.

Abby said: “I’m so blessed to have the family, partner and friends that I have, who go out of their way to help me through such a tough time.”

Her family visit her favourite beach to take photos and collect shells to show her, and she speaks out about her illness on her Facebook page Abby’s Mental Health Journey.

She added: “I don’t even know what triggered it.

“I miss out on everything. I have no life – something has to change.”
