Hazza yesterday revealed he will tie the knot with Meghan Markle on May 19 next year in Windsor Castle, hours before the big game kicks off at Wembley.
The move could cause chaos for Prince William, Harry’s best man, who usually presents the trophy in his role as the President of the FA.
An FA spokesman said: “Everyone at The FA is delighted for HRH Prince Harry and Meghan Markle with the announcement of their wedding at Windsor Castle next year.
“With millions coming together to watch both events at home and around the world, it will be a day to celebrate.”
However, not everyone was happy with the announcement, with football fans fuming on Twitter. Chloe Toft wrote: “FA Cup Final day? Thanks a lot, Meghan.” Another added: “What guy in their right mind agrees to get married on FA Cup final day?”
The wedding date has also caused controversy as it falls on a Saturday. Emma Grace wrote on social media: “Damn I was looking forward to a bank holiday.”
Hotels in Windsor last night announced that they were being flooded with a late rush of bookings and that only a few rooms remained.
