NEWLY single Louise Redknapp stepped out with her former Strictly dance partner Kevin Clifton amid rumours his marriage is in trouble.

It comes after his wife and fellow dancer Karen reportedly pleaded with Jamie Redknapp to “keep his wife away” from her husband.

The pair were seen laughing with pals and drinking wine on a night out in London. It is the first time they have been pictured in public since Karen’s warning.

Both looked carefree as they chatted together at the theatre.

An onlooker said: “They were clearly close friends.”

The duo became good pals after being partnered on the BBC show. But former footballer Jamie, 44, was unhappy with how close they grew on last year’s series, insiders said.

He and Louise, 43, fell victim to the “Strictly curse” and announced the end of their 18-year marriage in September.

The pro dancers’ relationship has also been under the microscope recently.

Viewers noticed the pair not dancing together during the series.

But Karen, 35, appeared to dismiss rumours of a rocky patch after she was seen beaming and putting a loving hand on her husband’s back during the final on Saturday.

Meanwhile Louise spoke publicly about her crumbling relationship in October. She told of feeling under pressure to be the perfect mum and wife.

And she admitted: “I cared too much about what people thought of me.”

Fellow Strictly star Daisy Lowe was blamed by fans for the couple’s separation.

Some hit out at the former Eternal singer for splitting from pundit Jamie.

But others backed her and one said: “Nothing wrong with Louise taking control of her life.”
