OUR MAN IN

HAVANA (nap) may still be a step ahead of the handicapper. He got up close home to deny Central City by a neck in a similar event over this trip at Wolverhampton last month. He is up just 1lb for that success and does have a good record on the all-weather, finishing out of the first two just once in five starts.

Motown Mick has been running consistently but has never won on the all-weather and remains 12lb higher than when successful on grass. This is a step up in class for

Roseau City, who is out of the handicap, so races off an 8lb higher mark while stamina is the issue with

The Mums. She has winning form at six furlongs but has struggled when tried at this distance. It is possible that first -time blinkers will help Zenovia but she is starting to look expensive to follow. She has started favourite three times on her last four outings but failed to deliver and

STRICTLY CARTER is suggested. He is a hold-up performer and will need some luck in running from his low draw but he is well weighted on his best form and has Harry Burns taking 7lb off his back. Napping is yet to open her account but ran a blinder on her handicap debut over course and distance and if building on that should make her presence felt.

Arcanista was just in front of her and has about the same chance at the revised weights. Billyoakes has not won for over a year but did shape well on his latest start and has slipped to mark 8lb lower than when last successful. The step up to this trip may just help

VOLPONE JELOIS (nb). He does not do anything quickly but kept on resolutely when third over one mile four furlongs last week and Megan Nicholls teams up with him again. The progressive Noble Behest makes his debut for a new yard and the four-timer is not out of the question. He has improved for the step up to this distance, so there are no stamina doubts and arguably he remains ahead of the handicapper off a 5lb higher mark.

Ayr Of Elegance is just 3lb higher than when scoring over track and trip in March and drops in grade after a decent effort at Newmarket last time. This could be a red-letter day for Gavin Ashton as he takes his first ride in public on ALTERNATE ROUTE (treble). He drops in trip after scoring over two miles here in September but has blinkers applied for the first time which could see him home. Nurse Nightingale has not won in nine attempts but the form of her second over course and distance last time has been franked by both the third and fourth in that race scoring next time out. She looks a threat on that evidence and so does Moneyoryourlife. He has been off since May but has been very consistent at this level and hails from an in-form yard.
