WE'LL MAKE MOUR WHINE

Lee shows his bottle

- By ALEX CROOK

LEE JOHNSON robbed his daughter’s piggy-bank to splash out on a bottle of Jose Mourinho’s favourite vino.

And the Bristol City boss believes he can toast dumping Manchester United out of the Carabao Cup tonight.

Johnson is relishing his battle with Mourinho when the holders travel to Ashton Gate.

While Johnson has promised the Special One five-star treatment after the game, he warned he will not hold back on the touchline as he looks to steer Championship City to a vintage win.

He said: “I am a young gunslinger up against the likes of Jose, but I have purchased an extremely expensive bottle of wine I have heard he likes.

“The wine has cost me a fortune and I had to raid my little girl’s piggy bank so she won’t be getting a Christmas present now!

“It is a Portuguese red so hopefully I can seduce him into the office for five or 10 minutes and pick his brain about one or two things.

“But in the technical area he will be just another manager and my competitive nature and the players will try and outgun the world class talent on the pitch and the technical area. We won’t be in awe of them and we won’t fear them. “We respect they have world-class players and a world-class manager but we are in good form in the league and will be a challenge for them.” Johnson promised not to over-celebrate if his side pull off a famous win after Mourinho complained about Manchester City partying wildly following the Old Trafford derby. The Robins boss joked: “There will be no knee slides and definitely no milk and flour in the coaches’ room.” City keeper Luke Steele spent four years at Old Trafford and said it would not be a major upset if his in-form side knock out United. Johnson’s men are in third place in the Championship and beat Watford, Stoke and Crystal Palace on route to the quarter finals. Steele said: “If you beat United in any game, it is huge. To have that on your CV is massive. It is a club with unbelievable history. “If it was at Old Trafford it would be very difficult to beat them but at home we have an advantage. “We are underdogs but I would not say by a stupid amount. It would not be a huge shock if we were to win.”
